Megan Walsh, PhD
Megan E. Walsh is Scientist in Computational Science. Prior to joining Materia Therapeutics in August 2026, she earned a Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University in 2026 and a B.S. from the University of Connecticut in 2021, both in Chemical Engineering. Her Ph.D. work focused on using mathematical models and optimization techniques to improve the manufacturing process for synthetic peptides, an emerging class of therapeutics. Specifically, she created a tool to be used by decisionmakers in the pharmaceutical industry to aid in determining operating conditions that reduced costs and saved time while maintaining product quality specifications. For this work, Megan was recognized as a Pharmaceutical Discovery, Development, and Manufacturing (PD2M) Student Award winner at the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) Annual Conference in 2024.
