John D. Martin served as Chief Executive Officer since 2022. Prior to founding Materia Therapeutics, Dr. Martin worked in the Research Division at NanoCarrier Co. Ltd. He also served as an Advisor to Red Arrow Therapeutics. With the support of fellowships from The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, he completed postdoctoral research at the University of Tokyo with Professors Kazunori Kataoka and Horacio Cabral. Dr. Martin earned a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology while performing research in Professor Rakesh K. Jain’s laboratory at Harvard Medical School.
