John D. Martin is the Chief Executive Officer. Prior to founding Materia Therapeutics, John worked in the Research Division at NanoCarrier Co., Ltd. He also served as an Advisor to Red Arrow Therapeutics. With the support of fellowships from The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, he completed postdoctoral research at the University of Tokyo with Professors Kazunori Kataoka and Horacio Cabral. John earned a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology while performing research in Professor Rakesh K. Jain’s laboratory at Harvard Medical School. In 2023 and 2024, ScholarGPS recognized John as a Top Scholar, indicating his research work’s impact was among the top 0.5% of all investigators.
